Howard Rheingold’s book “Net Smart – How to thrive online” convinced me that the best way to learn is to join like-minded others that are co-creating knowledge in that area.
2012 Year of the MOOC
MOOCs became especially popular in 2012. I joined one called OLDSMOOC – Learning Design for a 21st Century Curriculum at the end of that year. My digital literacies took a quantum leap in 2013. My Learning Journal for OLDSMOOC links to dozens of my artifacts created with various tools introduced to me. The connections I made then are still leading me today.
Mobile devices enable anywhere, anytime learning. Designing learning environments needs to focus on mobile devices. That and my connection to Sheila MacNeill bring me here today.
